Robert Alphonso Nedd, a kind-hearted and compassionate individual, passed away on July 2, 2016. Born on June 19, 1960, in New York City, Robert was raised in Chelsea and later resided in the Bronx.
Robert was known for his selfless nature, always putting others before himself. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel loved and special, and was often referred to as a “missionary” and “social worker” by his family. He was a social butterfly who thrived in the company of others, and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Robert was a smart and curious individual who loved discussing politics, current events, and history. He was deeply rooted in his Christian faith, and had a passion for gospel music. He was a devoted family man, and his love for his family was evident in everything he did.
In his final days, Robert’s concern for his family’s well-being was palpable. His last words to his mother, “Ma, are you good?” will forever be remembered. Robert’s legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on through his family and friends, who will deeply miss him.
Robert is survived by his parents, Crawford and Lula Nedd; his six siblings, Stephanie, Selina, Daiselle Renee, David, Roslyn, and Richard; eight nieces, Shauntrece, Regina, Jalissa, Allyssa, Taliyah, Sakari, Samira, and Allexa; one nephew, Elijah; three great-nieces; two great-nephews; three aunts, Daisy McDougal, Elizabeth Crawford, and Barbara Charles; one uncle, Jimmy Crawford; and a host of loving cousins and friends.
Robert’s family and friends will remember him for his infectious smile, his kind heart, and his generous spirit. He was a true blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished for years to come.
As Robert’s family and friends gather to celebrate his life, they will remember his love of gospel music, his passion for helping others, and his devotion to his family. They will recall his many acts of kindness, his words of encouragement, and his unwavering support.
Robert’s legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched, and his memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his love, kindness, and compassion will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, Robert’s family requests that donations be made to a charity in his name. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Robert’s life, and all are welcome to attend.
